This opening weekend is stocked with some pretty appealing matchups between members of the SEC and the ACC. Georgia and Clemson will face each other on Saturday night–a battle of two potential national championship contending programs. North Carolina and South Carolina kick things off for the 2013 season in just a few hours. And, Alabama will go down to Atlanta to take on Virginia Tech in the annual Chick-Fil-A Kickoff.
Speaking of the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff game….
Word has just been released that the 2015 Chick-Fil-A Kickoff will feature yet another matchup between teams from the SEC and ACC, and it’ll feature the Auburn Tigers.

That’s right. Auburn will kickoff the 2015 campaign in Atlanta against the Louisville Cardinals. The Cardinals will be entering their second season in the ACC as they will be beginning that run in 2014.
With optimism at an all-time high for Gus Malzahn and the Tigers program, this is a great opportunity to gauge how far the program has come under the coach in such a high-profile contest. Malzahn also referenced that notion in regards to this announcement:
“It will be a great opportunity for us to play on a national stage to kick off the college football season against a very good Louisville program,” said Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said in a statement. “We love playing in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome in front of our fans who live in the area or who can make the short drive to see Auburn play in a first-class event.”
