Auburn Tigers Morning Links – August 22 - Chizik's Back, Sort of...

Happy Friday everyone! This time next week you’ll probably be making final arrangements for your Saturday tailgating or game watching plans. We are just eight days from the Auburn Tigers kicking off the first game of the 2014 football season at home against Arkansas. It’s so close!

  • National championship coach Gene Chizik is back in the SEC. Auburn’s former head coach will serve as an analyst on the SEC Network this season.
  • Golf pro Jason Dufner accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and sent his own challenge to another former Auburn star athlete.
  • So, as it turns out, Harvey Updyke won’t be involved in a charity event after all. It’s probably for the best.
  • Auburn soccer opens tonight at Clemson to mark head coach Karen Hoppa’s 16th season as head coach of the Tigers. Auburn was 8-9-4 last season.
  • Head basketball coach Bruce Pearl spent time with the crew from WBRC Fox 6 yesterday. You can check out the videos here.
  • Check out the volleyball team’s expected outside hitters on the athletic department’s official website.
  • Ten Auburn Tigers were selected as members of the preseason coaches All-SEC teams, led by three on the first team.
