Penn State fans gave Auburn football bulletin board material when they chanted ‘we want Auburn’ following a dominant 44-13 win over Ball State.

The Nittany Lions feasted on the defending MAC Champions before looking ahead to their Week Three matchup against a Tigers program that has outscored its two opponents 122-10 so far this season.

Auburn football had just taken down Alabama State of the FCS 62-0 earlier in the afternoon when Beaver Stadium faithful began calling for the current #25-ranked team.

Tiger fans’ response? Bring it on…

Penn State heads into Week Three against AU with the chance to be a top 10-ranked team in the AP Top 25 after two strong wins in a row. As for Auburn football, a jump to the low 20’s seems likely after losses from Texas and Utah.

The matchup will be featured on ESPN’s College Gameday next Saturday, getting preference over Alabama-Florida.

It cannot be overstated that this game could well determine the trajectory of the season for AU. Going up north and laying an egg on national television could well sink any College Football Playoff hopes this team may have in the first year of the Bryan Harsin era.

If they pull of the W? Well, then there’d be a lot of Tiger fans convinced that this is the year after all…
