9. Texas A&M
Last Season: 9-4 (4-4)
The Good: The future is very bright in College Station. Kevin Sumlin is a young, hip coach with a high-scoring offense and he is one of the best recruiters in college football. Sumlin is building a monster at Texas A&M.
The Bad: Before the monster is fully built, however, A&M has to make it through 2014. The Aggies must replace the most productive player in college football, and are likely going to turn to a true freshman to replace him. Kyle Allen is the favorite to start at quarterback for Texas A&M, replacing 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel.
The Ugly: The defense last year was horrible. Statistically, Texas A&M ranked dead last in the SEC in scoring defense (32.2 ppg), rushing defense (222.3 ypg) and total defense (475.8 ypg). The Aggies weren’t much better against the pass, finishing 12th after allowing 253.3 yards on average.
