7. LSU

Pre-Season Ranking: 8

Last Week: Beat Wisconsin 28-24

The Good: The Tigers may have a quarterback. Though his 9-for-21 line in the box score won’t impress many people, sophomore Anthony Jennings threw for 239 yards, two touchdowns and didn’t have an interception. Jennings also helped lead the Tigers to another fourth quarter victory, which is most important. Travin Dural exploded for 151 yards and a TD on only three receptions.

The Bad: For a team that likes to run the football as much as the Tigers, LSU had only 130 rushing yards against the Badgers. Kenny Hilliard was solid with 110 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, but Leonard Fournette added only 18 yards on eight attempts.

The Ugly: Let’s not call him a bust just yet, but Fournette was not as impressive as was expected. The true freshman is facing impossible expectations from the media, but 18 yards on eight carries – the longest of which went for five yards – is not good.
