Last Week: Beat Lamar 73-3
We certainly didn’t expect Texas A&M to perform any other way in Week 2. The Aggies feasted on FCS opponent Lamar and racked up 630 yards in the process. Kenny Hill looked great in his second career start and completed 17 of 26 passes for 283 yards and four touchdowns. We also saw a glimpse of true freshman Kyle Allen, who threw two TDs of his own.
The big story was the play of the Texas A&M defense. While they aren’t the Wrecking Crew just yet, the Aggies held Lamar to three points and 243 yards of total offense – including only 153 passing yards. Even better, A&M held Lamar’s QB Caleb Berry to only 16 completions among 42 pass attempts.
