Last Week’s Result: Beat Ohio 20-3

Overall, Kentucky did not look as impressive in Week 2 as they did in the season opener against Tennessee-Martin, but the Wildcats were solid and showed some of the big-play flashes that have excited fans in Lexington. And best of all, Kentucky beat a team they were supposed to beat. That hasn’t always happened there in recent years.

The offense got off to a great start with two long touchdown drives in the first seven minutes of the game, and the defense was dominant all afternoon. The Wildcats had 402 yards of total offense, including 232 on the ground, while Kentucky held Ohio to 223 total yards. Quarterback Patrick Towles finished the game 17-for-31 for 170 passing yards and a touchdown, and true freshman Stanley Williams scored on a 53-yard touchdown.
