Last Week’s Result: Beat Eastern Michigan 65-0

We finally got to see what this new look Florida offense has to offer, and it was impressive. Much like Arkansas’ performance, it is important to stay measured, but the Gators did something they have not done in a long, long time by beating an opponent 65-0.

The box score looks about as good as it can for Florida, as UF logged 655 yards of total offense and held the Eagles to 125. Quarterback Jeff Driskel completed 31 of his 45 pass attempts for 248 yards and a touchdown and true freshman Treon Harris debuted with 148 yards and two TDs on his only two attempts as a collegian. Not a bad start to a career.

The biggest bright spot, however, was the big play performance of the Florida receiving corps. Demarcus Robinson averaged 20.5 yards per catch on six receptions, including a 70-yarder. Quentin Dunbar had a 42-yard catch among his five receptions and Mark Herndon caught one of Harris’ tosses for 78 yards.
