Last but not least, the Texas A&M Aggies will play another featherweight opponent from the Lone Star State. Sure, the Rice Owls are the defending champions of Conference USA, but they are far from a threat.
In Week 1, Texas A&M jumped into the national championship race with an impressive 52-28 win over South Carolina in Columbia. Kenny Hill went from surprising starter to Heisman Trophy contender. Last week, the Aggies could name their score in the home opener against Lamar and settled on 73-3.
Rice was off last Saturday after losing to Notre Dame 48-17 in South Bend two weeks ago. In their last game against an SEC opponent, the Owls lost 44-7 to Mississippi State in the 2013 Liberty Bowl. In short, the matchup with Texas A&M has a similar feel, except that the Aggies should score a lot more points than either the Bulldogs or Fighting Irish.
