UL-Lafayette at #14 Ole Miss (-28), 3:00pm CT, SEC Network

This had the look of a much better game until the Ragin’ Cajuns were blown out 48-20 by Louisiana Tech last week. Considered heavy favorites in the Sun Belt, UL-Lafayette also appeared to have an outside shot to be the Non-Power 5 representative in one of the major bowl games after the season – but not anymore.

Ole Miss looked good on the road last week against Vanderbilt. Bo Wallace has thrown for more than 700 yards so far in 2014 and he was accurate and dependable last week (23 of 30, 320 yards, one TD, no INTs) after a sub-par first half performance in Week 1 (three interceptions).

Yes, Ole Miss is a much more talented team. They have a solid defense and also can score plenty of points on offense. However, with the Alabama game three weeks away, it is possible the Rebels will overlook their opponent Saturday (and Memphis in two weeks as well).

The Rebels are rolling, and they will host the game in Oxford, but don’t sleep on ULL head coach Mark Hudspeth. He is one of the best coaches in the country that few have heard of, and the Ragin’ Cajuns are still a force to be reckoned with. Ole Miss will win, but it won’t be easy.
