5. LSU Tigers (3-0, 0-0)

Last Week’s Result: Beat ULM 31-0

It wasn’t overly impressive, but the Tigers’ 31-0 victory over UL-Monroe was historic. LSU notched a second consecutive shutout for the first time in thirty years, and the win was the program’s 400th in the history of Tiger Stadium. In fact, LSU hasn’t allowed a point in nine quarters.

Kenny Hilliard and Leonard Fournette each had a touchdown and combined for 102 rushing yards in the victory. Anthony Jennings had 139 passing yards without a touchdown and was intercepted. But the story of the game was the defense.

The ULM Warhawks had 93 yards against LSU. 93. 9.3. All game. UL-Monroe quarterback Pete Thomas attempted 30 passes and had only 77 passing yards. The entire roster combined for 16 rushing yards.

LSU will host Mississippi State next week in a big SEC West matchup.
