The Auburn Tigers will remain at No. 1 in the Week 4 SEC Power Rankings after sitting out on Saturday in preparation for Thursday night’s prime time showdown with Kansas State. Auburn will travel to Manhattan, Kansas for the first time since 1978. The Tigers have beaten K-State all three times they have played, the most recent of which was in 2007.

Behind one of college football’s best offenses and an improving defense, the Tigers are a legitimate threat to repeat as SEC Champions. Quarterback Nick Marshall will have an opportunity to erase doubts caused by his passing performances thus far, and having explosive wide receiver Sammie Coates back from injury should be a big help.
On defense, the Tigers found a pass rush against San Jose State, which will be key when dealing with the Wildcats’ duo of QB Jake Waters and wide receiver Tyler Lockett.
This week’s non-conference matchup will be the first true test of the semester for Auburn. K-State will be ranked in the top 20, and the crowd at Bill Snyder Family Stadium will be difficult for the Tigers to overcome.
This week: at Kansas State (Thursday)
