13. Kentucky Wildcats (2-1, 0-1)

Last week’s Result: Lost to Florida 36-30, 3OT

The Kentucky Wildcats went into The Swamp and nearly came away with a program changing victory. But, in a back and forth battle, the Wildcats fell in triple overtime. The loss is a moral victory of sorts, if only because it shows just how far UK has come since 2013.

Kentucky came alive on offense in the second half, and totaled 450 total yards against vaunted Florida defense. Patrick Towles threw for 369 yards and three touchdowns, but also had three costly interceptions.

The defense was stout early, and the two teams played to a 3-3 tie in the first half. However, the Wildcats had no answer for Demarcus Robinson, who caught 15 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns.

This team is leaps and bounds ahead of the 2013 squad. They will give teams fits this season, but for now, UK can’t climb out of the 13th spot in our weekly SEC power rankings.
