8. Missouri Tigers (3-0, 0-0)

Last Week’s Result: Beat UCF 38-10

The 2014 season is starting very similar to 2013 for the defending SEC East Champions. Missouri has been quietly been picking up wins against semi-decent competition – not making too much noise, but building momentum for the conference schedule.

Overall, the Missouri offense was far from spectacular and gained only 322 yards, but Maty Mauk threw four more touchdowns against UCF in the Tigers’ 38-10 win. He now has eight TD passes in three games. Marcus Murphy added 94 rushing yards on 15 carries to lead the rushing attack.

The Mizzou defense held the Knights to less than 300 total yards and forced four turnovers in the victory, giving the Tigers great field position most of the afternoon. Missouri will host Indiana next week before travelling to the other Columbia for the SEC opener against South Carolina on September 27.
