Prediction:

This game won’t be much of one. The Tigers are simply superior to the Bulldogs in every way. The talent gap between the two teams is laughable.

The coaching gap between Malzahn’s staff and Holtz’s staff is obvious. Nick Marshall and the starters will last until, at latest, the end of the third quarter. Auburn runs for over 300 yards, Nick Marshall throws two touchdowns and the Tigers defense holds the Bulldogs to under 250 total yards. Auburn rolls and stays healthy with LSU looming large.

#5 Auburn Tigers 56, Louisiana Tech 10

SEC Predictions:

#6 Texas A&M 38, Arkansas 24 (Hogs are much improved, but A&M is far too talented to handle.)

#10 Ole Miss 24, Memphis 7 (Memphis could hang tough if the Rebs are focused on Bama already.)

#12 Georgia 41, Tennessee 30 (The Vols always play the Dawgs tough. This will be no exception.)

#13 South Carolina 35, Missouri 28 (College GameDay has to hate that Indiana upset Mizzou last week. I know I do.)

#17 LSU 49, New Mexico State 7 (This could be Brandon Harris’s chance to snag the QB job.)

Kentucky 45, Vanderbilt 21 (UK’s Patrick Towles might be in the discussion for best QB in the SEC East.)

Other Notable Games:

#15 Arizona State 29, #11 UCLA 24 (There’s no good way to predict this game. It’s on a Thursday night and the QB situations for both teams are up in the air.)

More from Auburn Football

#24 Oklahoma State 49, Texas Tech 28 (Before the season, I believed TTU would make noise in the Big 12. I see now that that noise is the sound of a whiffed tackle.)

#1 Florida State 35, NC State 14 (This could be a trap scenario for the Seminoles. They had best be careful.)

#16 Stanford 31, Washington 3 (Stanford is still Stanford. Washington is… something. I’m not sure what.)

#8 Notre Dame 42, Syracuse 13 (Can we just talk about how the Irish have jumped up 9 spots by beating Rice, Michigan and Purdue?)

#7 Baylor 59, Iowa State 35 (Be careful, Bears. Ames is, like, super weird.)

#18 USC 21, Oregon State 18 (The Beavers are tempting here, but I’ll take the home Trojans.)

Michigan COKE, Minnesota PEPSI (Michigan, in front of a not-thirsty-anymore crowd, will outclass the Gophers.)

UPSET ALERT!  Cincinnati 49, #22 Ohio State 41 (The Buckeyes’ struggles will continue. Their defense will be torched by Gunner Kiel, who will toss six touchdowns in the Horseshoe and lead the Bearcats to a shootout win. Tommy Tuberville beating Urban Meyer on his own field? Never seen that before.)
