Last Week: Beat New Mexico State 63-7

When the LSU Tigers make their first SEC road trip of the season next week against Auburn, they are likely to have a new starting quarterback. LSU was in danger of slipping deep into the depth of our SEC Power Rankings when they struggled through the first quarter with Anthony Jennings under center, but Brandon Harris provided a major spark and spurred the Tigers to a blowout victory.

More from Auburn Football

Jennings was pulled after he threw two interceptions in his five attempts early in the contest. The sophomore finished with only two completions and 11 passing yards. Harris, on the other hand, was on fire and completed 11 of 14 attempts for 178 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. The true freshman even scored twice on the ground and finished with 36 rushing yards on five attempts. Fellow first year player Leonard Fournette also found the end zone twice among his 122 yards and 18 carries.

The defense was great again after a one-week hiccup against Mississippi State. The Aggies had only 274 yards of total offense, and 79 of them came on one play in the second quarter. Now, the Tigers will take their true freshman QB into Jordan-Hare Stadium for a date with the No. 5 Auburn Tigers.
