We saw last week just how far LSU has fallen. They’ve got talent on both sides of the football, but the team is so young the Tigers are likely to struggle each and every week from here out. It’s hard to imagine, but LSU just might be the worst team in the SEC West, and they will struggle to make it to a bowl game.

  • That said, Florida is in a very similar boat. It looked like the Gators had found a quarterback the team could rally around last week against Tennessee, but in yet another college football scandal, true freshman Treon Harris won’t be on the field as he deals with an ongoing legal matter. Instead, Jeff Driskel, who was benched late in the win over the Vols, will be back behind center. More importantly, running back Matt Jones, who really led the charge in the fourth quarter last week, will be back.

LSU has its own true freshman quarterback, and Brandon Harris was dreadful last week against Auburn in the 41-7 loss. We are likely to see both he and sophomore Anthony Jennings against the Gators.

The Tigers are a road favorite, albeit a slight one. And while the SEC West is miles ahead of the East, and the Gators aren’t very good, I’ve got a feeling that Florida will pull this one out in The Swamp.
