So, Texas A&M was a bit overrated two weeks ago, eh? It’s not that the Aggies aren’t a good team; it’s just that they should never have been ranked in the top ten in the nation.

Texas A&M beat a South Carolina team that we now understand was similarly overrated at the beginning of the year, and then feasted on one of the weakest non-conference slates in the nation before sneaking by Arkansas in overtime. Kevin Sumlin’s crew has been easily handled two weeks in a row by Mississippi State and Ole Miss, and now must travel to Tuscaloosa. Yikes.
Alabama, meanwhile, hasn’t exactly set the world on fire recently. After a 4-0 start and a bye week, the Crimson Tide also fell to Ole Miss, though Alabama lost in a much closer game on the road. The following week, those pesky Razorbacks also took the Tide to the brink before Alabama was able to find a way to win. Simply, these teams have similar profiles. The difference?
Alabama is a better football team. The Tide is more talented, particularly on defense (though the gap is closing) and Alabama is much more experienced. Those factors should enable Alabama to pick up a home win and a close cover.
