Saturday Selections: Week 8 SEC Gambling Picks Against the Spread

This game is intriguing because it will test just how different the SEC East is from the SEC West. Georgia is the clear favorite in the East, and if not for a lackluster performance in Columbia, SC in a loss to the Gamecocks, they would be one of the favorites to win the national championship – with or without Todd Gurley.

Following a much more impressive performance in Columbia, MO, the Dawgs will travel to Arkansas as a 3.5-point favorite. The Razorbacks, who are hosting this game in Little Rock, have yet to win an SEC contest under head coach Bret Bielema, but are bound to break through at some point. However, even if Gurley is still unable to play – and right now it looks like he won’t make the trip – Georgia has more overall talent and depth.
Remember though that the Hogs hail from the SEC West, and Arkansas is a much improved football team. They’ve dominated in non-conference play and have taken their last two opponents to the edge before falling in close games. A win is not out of the question for the Razorbacks – but it’s still unlikely. Yet another close loss appears to be the most likely outcome.
