The Ole Miss Rebels are one of the hottest teams in the nation. If not for their in state rivals, the Rebels would be the talk of the college football world all by themselves instead of sharing the spotlight. Ole Miss has one of the nation’s best defenses, a quality senior quarterback, and several talented playmakers on both sides of the football. After dominating Texas A&M in College Station last week, they look like the real deal.

  • Tennessee, on the other hand, is still looking for a signature win. Like Arkansas, they’ve been close, but just haven’t been able to get over the hump in conference play this season. There was the close loss to Georgia and the closer loss to Florida, and now the Vols must travel Oxford to play an even tougher opponent. They need three wins to reach bowl eligibility and a victory this week doesn’t appear likely.

Of course, we aren’t picking winners on the scoreboard, but rather at the sports book. A 16-point spread is a big number, particularly in an SEC game. Ole Miss is certainly a better team, but Tennessee should be able to keep it close for at least three quarters – close enough to cover.
