After a 5-1 start, the Kentucky Wildcats felt very good about their chances of making a bowl game, and even competing for the SEC East title.

  • However, after a 41-3 blowout loss in Baton Rouge and a disappointing ending last week against No. 1 Mississippi State, the Wildcats are in danger. A trip to Columbia, Missouri won’t make things any easier, and UK might actually be an underdog in all four remaining games – making a bowl trip questionable.

Meanwhile, Missouri is still alive in the East race because their only conference loss is to Georgia. The Bulldogs still have some tough SEC games on their schedule, and a UGA loss would give Mizzou sole possession of first place in the division. Therefore, expect to see the Tigers’ best effort on Saturday against Kentucky.

Unfortunately for Missouri fans, the Tigers’ best effort hasn’t been very good of late. They sleepwalked through a 24-14 win over Vanderbilt last week, and the offense has been bad for a month. They’ll probably find a way to win, but it’ll be close – and ugly.
