LSU has been on a roll since the Tigers dropped back-to-back SEC West matchups with Mississippi State and Auburn – both of which are ranked among the nation’s top three – and especially after upsetting Ole Miss 10-7 at home two weeks ago. The Tigers have now won three straight in conference play and are still alive in the division race, but have yet another top five opponent up next.

  • The Alabama Crimson Tide will pose a major challenge to LSU, even on a Saturday night in Death Valley. The Alabama defense has allowed only 14 points per game this season, which ranks second in the nation, but the offense has been nearly as impressive.

The Tide ranks in the nation’s top 30 in both passing yards and rushing yards, and have a top 20 scoring offense. Now 7-1 overall and 4-1 in SEC play, Alabama now controls its destiny to make the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta thanks to Ole Miss’ loss last week.

From a pure talent standpoint, the two rosters are very similar. However, Alabama holds a major advantage in experience. That should play a factor as the Tide aims to overcome the Tigers’ home field advantage. Expect a low scoring slugfest, but for Alabama to cover late.
