Usually we have more games to choose from in our SEC football picks against the spread, and our Friday column always includes at least four options. However, with four teams taking a bye week, two playing FCS opponents, and our tradition of saving our Auburn prediction for game day morning, we’ve got an open spot.

Therefore, as a bonus, we’ll take a closer look at the total of Auburn’s game with Texas A&M.
Both the Tigers and Aggies have great offenses, which is why the over/under for this matchup is set at a lofty 68. With Auburn a 23.5-point favorite, Las Vegas expects to see this game’s outcome somewhere around 45-23. That seems very reasonable, especially for teams that average a combined 75 points per game this season and the two teams easily surpassed that number last year in College Station.
However, Texas A&M has struggled mightily on offense in their last two games. In fact, the Aggies have had their two worst offensive performances in the Kevin Sumlin era in a 59-0 loss to Alabama and a 21-16 win over Sun Belt Conference opponent UL Monroe. They also have a true freshman at quarterback in his first road start (and second overall) and will operate at a slower pace than usual.
Auburn’s defense hasn’t been spectacular of late, but they’ve been much improved this season. Expect the Tigers to keep the A&M offense in check, and for the teams to stay below the total.
