It’s cupcake weekend for several SEC teams, which means we won’t be making picks against the spread in four of the eight games in this week, including Eastern Kentucky going to The Swamp to lay Florida, Charleston Southern playing Georgia between the hedges in Athens, and Alabama hosting the Western Carolina Catamounts.

However, there are four games to pick, and three pivotal Southeastern Conference matchups. South Alabama and South Carolina square off early in Columbia, and well-rested Ole Miss squad travels to Arkansas where the rejuvenated Razorbacks take aim at their second straight win after snapping an 17-game skid in SEC football games.

In prime time, Vanderbilt travels to Starkville in an attempt to knock No. 4 Mississippi State out of the College Football Playoff picture completely, while the SEC East is on the line in Knoxville.

If the Vols can beat Missouri, it will knock the Tigers out of the division race and Georgia will represent the East in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta. A win for Mizzou keeps them alive to play their way back to the Georgia Dome. Of course, the big concern is how they will fare against the spread.

Last Week ATS: 2-3

This Season ATS: 50-32-2 (59.5%)

Last week, our SEC football picks against the spread were slightly below average and earned a 2-3 mark. That pushed our season record to 50-32-2 (59.5%). That’s not bad (and still profitable) but we’re looking to finish strong.

Line spreads are provided by Bovada and the rankings listed come from the College Football Playoff committee. We’ll have our Auburn-Samford pick Saturday morning.
