Consider this: If you are a Florida Gators fan that had given up hope that Will Muschamp was the right man for the head coaching job in Gainesville, the 2014 season has a chance to be a very successful one.

A 6-4 record heading into the season finale against Florida State isn’t very successful by normal Florida standards, but the Gators are going to a bowl game, already hold victories over Georgia and Tennessee, and have a legitimate shot to ruin the Seminoles’ perfect season and back-to-back national championship hopes. If the Gators beat the Noles Saturday, they’ll have post-season bragging rights over their three biggest rivals, and Muschamp still won’t be back on the sidelines next season.
Overall, that’s not bad at all.
But is Florida the team that finally slays the FSU dragon?
“Obviously it’s going to be a different atmosphere for the Gators,” FSU quarterback Jameis Winston said. “They beat Georgia, so they feel like they can beat anybody, and we’re going to be ready. We’re going to be prepared.”
They’ve got the talent to do it, and there’s sure to be some extra “Win one for the ‘champer” motivation. That should keep things close enough for the Gators to cover, but an outright win is clearly a long shot.
Hopefully, Florida will be the one that finally beats Winston and the Seminoles, but even if they fall short, they should win you some money.
