Defensive Line
Sophomore A’Shawn Robinson is the nose guard for Kirby Smart’s 3-4 defense, and is a perfect fit for the position at 6-foot-4 and 320 pounds. Despite his size, Robinson is extremely athletic and may be one of the very best interior defensive linemen in college football.
Robinson led the 2013 Alabama defense with 5.5 sacks, though he has yet to record one this year. So far, Robinson has 35 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, two quarterback hurries, a forced fumble and a blocked kick.

Brandon Ivory backs up Robinson inside. He has played 40 games for the Tide, and has started 15 of them. Ivory has 12 tackles this season.
Jarran Reed and Jonathan Allen are the starters at defensive end. Reed leads Alabama defensive linemen with 44 total tackles this year, and also has one sack, 3.5 tackles for a loss, and has batted down five passes at the line of scrimmage. He had 15 tackles against LSU and has started ten of eleven games since joining the program as a junior college transfer. Allen is second on the team with 3.5 sacks and 8.5 tackles for a loss.
D.J. Pettway, Dalvin Tomlinson, the aptly named Dee Liner, and Da’Shawn Hand (one of the highest recruited players in the nation in the 2014 recruiting class) will also see time at end against Auburn.
