South Carolina: There have been no changes to the South Carolina coaching staff… yet.

“All our coaches are out recruiting. All of our coaches are under contract,” head coach Steve Spurrier said Friday when addressing rumors he had hired Will Muschamp as defensive coordinator and head coach in waiting. “Some of them may get a job somewhere else, you never know, and we’ll go from there. We are probably pretty flexible right now a little bit on the staff, but I believe that almost all of our guys will be back.”

Right now, the Gamecocks appear to be the biggest threat to Auburn for Muschamp’s services.

Tennessee: Head coach Butch Jones has been mentioned as a possible candidate at Michigan after leading the Vols to their first bowl game since Lane Kiffin was head coach, but will reportedly sign a contract extension in Knoxville instead. As of now, no staff changes are expected.

Vanderbilt: Derek Mason’s first season as a head football coach was nearly as bad as it could have been, and he’s making changes to his staff in an attempt to avoid similar results in 2015. Offensive coordinator Karl Dorrell, receivers coach Marc Lubick and strength and conditioning coach Bill Hughan will not be with the staff moving forward.

“I have great respect for Karl, Marc and Bill and appreciate their contributions to our program,” Mason said in a statement. “They are men of character and excellent coaches. I wish each of them nothing but success in the future.”

More changes are possible, including a couple of spots on the defensive coaching staff.
