Ole Miss: Like his in-state rival Mullen, Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze has built his team into a contender in the Southeastern Conference. Unlike Mullen, however, Freeze was believed to be the top target of Florida AD Jeremy Foley. Instead, he has reportedly agree to a big extension to remain in Oxford.

  • As of now, no staff changes are expected. Speculating, the only changes would come if co-defensive coordinator Dave Wommack, who led the Rebels to one of the nation’s best defensive statistical performances this season, got a big offer elsewhere or is Jason Jones received an opportunity to be a lone DC at another school.

Texas A&M: It’s a rebuilding year in College Station, but the Aggies are heading to a bowl game. They do have a couple of coaching spots open on the staff, however. Defensive coordinator Mark Snyder was fired following another dreadful season from the Texas A&M defense, meaning the Aggies are very much alive in the Will Muschamp Sweepstakes.

On the offensive side of the football, receivers coach David Beaty has accepted the head coaching position at Kansas. The loss is not insignificant, Beaty has been an ace recruiter for head coach Kevin Sumlin, and a major part of the success the Aggies have had on offense. It is unclear as of yet whether or not any current members of the staff will follow Beaty or who will replace him on staff.
