The most celebrated Auburn football player in this year’s Senior Bowl is center Reese Dismukes. As a senior, Dismukes was named a consensus All-American and he won the Rimington Award, which is given to the best center in the nation. He received Freshman All-American honors in 2011.

  • Perhaps even more importantly however, and what is likely to make Dismukes so difficult to replace in 2015 is his leadership.

“I think being a captain means just as much or more than the All-American or the Rimington,” Dismukes said in December. “I want to lead these guys and be the guy that they look to in tough situations and just be the one they can count on. That means just as much or more to me.”

Dismukes was a rock during his Auburn football career, and started 50 games for the Tigers across his four seasons on the Plains.

He’s not expected to be a first round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, but should be either the first or second center selected. And his leadership, dependability and production at Auburn should pave the way to a long NFL career.
