  • On a personal note, Ryan Davis is one of my favorite players in this year’s recruiting class. He’s a former high school quarterback – which means he has a high football IQ – and he’s got explosive playmaking ability with the ball in his hands.

Plus, at 5-foot-9 (or possibly slightly shorter) and 167 pounds (soaking wet), he fits the mold of the slot wide receiver position and return man we saw Quan Bray play so well in 2014.

With National Signing Day looming, Davis has cut his list of suitors to two. And like several others on this list – it’s Auburn or Florida. The St. Petersburg, Florida native was part of “Big Boom Weekend,” but was in Gainesville to visit with the Gators on January 23.

“They’re right up there,” Davis said after his visit to Auburn. “This visit showed me a lot of stuff that I didn’t know about Auburn and I see nothing but opportunity to come here and play right away. There’s no reason why I shouldn’t.”

He’ll announce his decision at 10AM Wednesday on Bright House Sports Network. I still (hope to) see him signing with the Tigers.
