If National Signing Day were Christmas (and some fans treat it like it is) Terry Beckner, Jr. would be at the top of list Will Muschamp sent to Santa Claus. He’s a big, physical and talented, and plays a position Auburn desperately needs due to the graduations of four 2014 defensive tackles.
But like a six-year old girl wishing for a pony or a 16-year old boy asking for a sports car, the odds are long that Muschamp will land the five-star defensive tackle.
Beckner visited Auburn January 16 and came away impressed. At the time, we rated the odds he would sign with the Tigers at 20%. A week later, following a visit to Ohio State, we set the odds at 15%, and with the East St. Louis native visiting Mizzou over the weekend, the odds may have slipped even more.

He was kind of a big deal in Columbia, and the warm welcome was sure to make an impact for the favored Missouri Tigers. Ohio State is still in the mix, as is Florida State, but it’s never wise to count out Muschamp on Signing Day.
Maybe Santa Claus will come through.
