  • With Jeremy Johnson, Sean White and Jason Smith already in the mix at quarterback, it’s not likely that Queen sees the field in 2015. However, Queen is a talented pocket passer that’s more athletic than he usually gets credit for and has a bright future as a signal caller for the Tigers.

“Tyler Queen is a guy that kind of brings a different dynamic to the system in that he’s not your elite runner like a Nick Marshall or a Cam Newton; he’s more like some of the other guys that have played in that system over the years,” according to J.C. Shurburtt of 247Sports. “He’s a coaches’ kid, you get him in there early, he has another spring practice to learn the system, learn the offense.”

As a senior, Queen  threw for 2,377 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions on 160-for-206 passes and ran for ten touchdowns. Two seasons earlier Queen had 2,607 passing yards with 23 touchdown passes, as well as 925 yards 20 more scores on the ground.

In his career at North Cobb High School, Queen threw for more than 8,000 yards. He also played in an offense that is relatively similar to Gus Malzahn’s, which should help his transition to college.
