A 6-foot-1, 180-pound signal caller from Mobile, Alabama, Jason Smith signed with the Auburn football program for the second time and finally made it to campus.

A member of the 2013 recruiting class, Smith did not qualify coming out of high school and spent two years at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. In 2014, the dual threat signal caller threw for 1,566 yards and 18 touchdowns with just two interceptions and added 424 yards and ten touchdowns on the ground.

Ranked the No. 1 Athlete among JUCO prospects in the 2015 recruiting class in both the 247Sports Composite and by ESPN, Smith has the tools to play quarterback or even receiver for the Tigers. He’ll get a chance to compete at QB first, but with Johnson and White unlikely to give up ground on the depth chart, Smith’s best chance to see the field in 2015 is in the receiving corps.

Similarly, Tyler Queen joined the Tigers as a member of the 2015 recruiting class, but isn’t likely to see playing time behind center in 2015.

A three-star prospect, Queen completed 160 of his 206 (77.7%) passing attempts, threw for 2,377 yards, and 27 touchdowns and added ten rushing TDs as a high school senior. Queen is an early enrollee and will participate in spring practice, but the 6-foot-2, 229-pound Georgia native is nearly guaranteed to redshirt.
