Finally, the big in-state rivalry everyone has been waiting for! Well, maybe not.

Last season, the Auburn Tigers hosted another FBS school from the state of Alabama – Pat Sullivan’s Samford squad from the Southern Conference. The Tigers won 38-7 in an Iron Bowl tune-up – the only Auburn football victory in the team’s last five games.

In 2015, the Tigers will host the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in Week 2, which should serve as a glorified scrimmage before the Tigers travel to Death Valley to face LSU.

However, it’s important to know that JSU is coming off a strong season that included a 10-1 regular season record with the only loss coming against Michigan State, an 8-0 run through the Ohio Valley Conference, and a No. 3 national seeding in the FCS Playoffs before losing to Sam Houston State.
