I could begin this article with a declaration that college football fans across the nation (and the world, for that matter) are finally emerging from the deep abyss of the offseason, but the truth is, there is no real offseason in college football.
Right after the national championship comes the insanity of recruiting, followed by spring practice, followed by crowds of thousands filling stadiums to watch their favorite team play a practice game. Immediately following spring game fever is the NFL Draft, and not even two months later, conference media days entertain the masses. And, of course, media days are followed by preseason practice, officially signaling the return of college football.
The months between the NFL Draft and media days also tend to entertain college football fans, whether there’s conference expansion debate, Johnny Manziel selling autographs or P. Diddy confronting a UCLA assistant coach with a kettlebell.
However, while the offseason is not the black void of nothingness that many make it out to be, Autumn has a clear advantage over the other seasons. Very soon, actual games will be played. Debates will rage. Playoff resumes will be built and destroyed.
With the faux-poetic introduction out of the way, here are my predictions for the 2015 college football season.
