Auburn Football Recruiting Update Two Weeks from National Signing Day
Things are really starting to heat up for Auburn football on the recruiting trail as we are just two weeks away from National Signing Day on February 3.
The Tigers had a lot of targets visit the Plains this past weekend, and several more will make an official visit before making their college choice. Here is a recap of the latest:
One of the top targets left on Auburn’s board is wide receiver Nate Craig-Myers, and he was amongst the group that made a visit this past weekend. It sounds like the Tigers remain one of his top targets, and might actually be the favorite. He still has a visit left with Ole Miss on January 29, but 247Sports’ Crystal Ball has Auburn as the leader with Florida and Florida State closely behind.
Craig-Myers’ half-brother, Jayvaughn Myers, also had a great weekend on the Plains and 247Sports has now changed their Crystal Ball Prediction for the four-star cornerback picking him to choose the Tigers. It’s likely that wherever one goes the other will follow, so it’s good to see that Auburn had such great progress with both recruits. Myers doesn’t have any more official visits scheduled, but Florida State is still heavily in the mix.

Another big target, five-star defensive tackle Derrick Brown, was impressed with the Tigers over the weekend. Georgia is a big favorite to land the 6-foot-4, 317 pound recruit, but Auburn is gaining on them down the stretch. Brown will visit the Bulldogs this weekend before visiting Tennessee on January 29.
If Auburn can land any of those three guys down the stretch it would completely change the complexion of this entire 2016 class, which is already a great one.
Three-star offensive tackle Lucas Niang also took a visit to the Plains over the weekend and is said to be choosing between the Tigers and Horned Frogs. The 6-foot-6, 295 pound lineman from New Canaan, Conn. will also take a trip to Miami this weekend before making his decision, which will probably come before signing day. TCU is listed as the favorite on 247Sports, but hopefully Auburn can steal him after that official visit.
It looks like former Auburn commit Stephen Davis Jr. is starting to warm back up to the Tigers. He is choosing between South Carolina and Auburn, but his visit this past weekend apparently went really well and it sounds like the Tigers could reel in the three-star defensive athlete before signing day.

Four-star wide receiver Ahmmon Richards from West Palm Beach, Fla. apparently has Auburn in his top two along with Miami. The Auburn coaching staff has been visiting him lately and plans to do so again in the upcoming weeks. Richards is scheduled to visit Alabama this weekend and then Tennessee the following weekend. On 247Sports Richards is projected to choose Alabama with Miami close behind, so we’ll see how this one ends up. Either way, it would be great if Auburn can get at least one more big time playmaker at wide receiver in this class.
Offensive lineman E.J. Price moved his official visit to Auburn up to this weekend and he will now visit Georgia the following weekend. The Bulldogs are heavily favored to land the four-star recruit, but Auburn is second on his list and could make a great impression this week with Hand now on board.
Auburn’s top offensive line recruit left on the board will be visiting the Plains this weekend in Willie Allen. The 6-foot-7.5, 300 pound offensive tackle from New Orleans, La. is projected to pick LSU, but Auburn may get the last chance to sway his decision as he doesn’t have another official visits setup right now. This one is a long shot, but maybe Auburn’s new offensive line coach Herb Hand can be the difference.
National Signing Day is just two weeks away! Hopefully we will be seeing some of these recruits put on an Auburn hat on February 3.
