No. 1 – Fulfilling A Promise – My favorite Cam Newton Auburn moment didn’t happen on the field. No, it was him fulfilling a promise to his mother.

All the skeptics said Newton didn’t care about Auburn, that he was just using them for a year to get to the NFL. Fans of other schools said he would never step foot on Auburn’s campus again after declaring for the 2011 NFL Draft.

They were wrong.

Promising his mother that he would earn his diploma despite leaving after his junior year, Newton took time during each offseason to come back to Auburn and take classes, finally earning his degree in sociology in May 2015.

Heisman Trophy. National Champion. Auburn alum. War Eagle, Cam Newton!
