  1. You guys lost a lot on the defensive line in the draft, will that be a weakness for Clemson this season? Or is someone in place to fill those holes?

The defensive line, as a matter, may be the deepest unit for Clemson’s defense this season. The Tigers return Carlos Watkins, who was projected as a second-round draft pick in this year’s NFL Draft, Scott Pagano and Christian Wilkins, who both started last season, and Albert Huggins, who saw some playing time and was a 5-star talent when he enrolled last season.

To top it off, the Tigers bring in Dexter Lawrence, who we talked about above. At defensive end, Clemson has Austin Bryant, who was Shaq Lawson’s backup, but may be faster and a better pass-rusher than Lawson himself.

The big concern on the defense, as we said earlier, is in the secondary. The Tigers have talent in the defensive backfield, but lack consistency heading into the summer.

Thanks to Andrew for answering our questions, and we will continue to put together these articles previewing the Clemson-Auburn matchup throughout the summer.
