Wesley Person

The younger brother of Chuck Person, Wesley played with Auburn from 1990-94 where he amassed over 2,000 points, over 700 rebounds and almost 300 assists.

From the time he was a freshman you knew he was going to be a star as he averaged 15.4 points per game in his first season with the Tigers. His junior year he average 18.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.

Following in his brother’s footsteps he was name an All-American his senior season when he average 22.2 points per game for the Tigers. While he never was able to get Auburn back to the NCAA Tournament, he did lead them to their first NIT appearance in 1993.

After his career at Auburn ended, he was taken by the Phoenix Suns with the 23rd overall pick in the 1994 NBA Draft. He spent five seasons with the Suns where he average over 10 points a game every season while he was there. Then he played with the Cavilers for five seasons, averaging 14.7 points per game his first season there, and 15.1 in his last season with the Cavs. Then he played for the Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks and Miami heat before ending his 11 year career with the Denver Nuggets.

He was named to the NBA All-Rookie team in 1994-95 after averaging 10.4 points per game. That same season the Suns made it to the Western Conference Semifinals where they were eliminated by the Houston Rockets.
