Now that we’re almost to the end of June and the MLB Draft has come and gone, it’s time to take a look and see where all the former Auburn baseball players are in the major league system.

Despite a disappointing 2016 season, Auburn had six players taken in the 2016 MLB Draft. Not all of them have signed yet, and at least one looks like he will be coming back for his senior season.

Auburn has had an incredible 34 players drafted since 2010, including a record number of players in 2010 when the Tigers had 11 players taken.

This year marked the first time since 2007 that an Auburn player was taken in the first round of the MLB Draft (Anfernee Grier was taken in the Composition A round, which counts as the first round). That pick in 2007 was Josh Donalson who was also a supplemental first round draft pick when he was taken 48th overall by the Chicago Cubs.

While Auburn fans certainly wish that all the talent on The Plains over the past six years would have turned into more wins, it’s exciting to see these guys go on and represent the school at the professional level.

Butch Thompson is doing a great job of bringing in the best talent in the country so we should continue to see Auburn baseball players making their way to the big leagues.

With that said, we’ll start at the lowest level and work our way up to those who are representing Auburn at the highest level.
