The first quarter sees a lot of punts as the two teams settle in. In the second quarter Jason Campbell hits Ronnie Brown on a swing pass out of the backfield that goes for 34 yards and sets the 2004 team up for its first points of the game with a field goal as they take a 3-0 lead.

Later in the second quarter, after a couple of good runs from Carnell Williams, Campbell finds Courtney Taylor for a 25-yard touchdown pass and the 2004 team takes a 10-0 lead into the half.

Coming out of the break the 2004 team continues to try and run the ball and bleed the clock. Meanwhile, the rushing attack of the 1957 team begins to wear down the 2004 defense. They eventually break through with a field goal midway through the third quarter to make it a 10-3 game.

The 1957 Auburn football team begins to cause havoc for Campbell in the backfield as he’s unable to get off many passes, while the running game has a hard time getting going leading to several three-and-outs.

Early in the fourth quarter the 1957 team gets on the board again with another field goal making it 10-6. With all of the running going on, the clock continues to move. With four minutes left and the 1957 team down to just one timeout, Campbell fakes the hand off to Brown and finds Carnell out of the backfield and he’s able to break free for eight yards and a first down, which seals the win for the 2004 team.

The win sets up our championship game between the 2010 and 2004 Auburn football teams.
