College Football Countdown: Ranking Difficulty of Each Auburn Opponent
11 – ULM: Level 2
The Warhawks of ULM have given some FBS opponents fits in the past, but that shouldn’t be the case in 2016 with them coming off of a 2-11 season with a first year head coach.
Auburn football will face ULM on October 1, which will be their sixth game of the season, and the last of their six straight home games to start the season. They will be coming off a home game against LSU, while ULM will be coming off of a bye week.

The Warhawks will play Oklahoma in week 2 of the college football season, so we’ll see then how they do against top flight talent. Last year they lost to Georgia 51-14 in a game that was called early, and Alabama beat them 34-0.
ULM returns eight starters on offense from a unit that scored 21 points a game in 2015. That group of returning starters includes their top quarterback, running back and wide receiver from a season ago.
However, they only return three starters on defense after giving up 36.5 points a game last season. The Auburn offense should have a field day in this game, and I expect them to put up at least 40 points. In fact, it would be considered an embarrassment for our offense if we don’t score at least 40 points against ULM.
This has to be another easy win for Auburn football in 2016. The only reason it’s a level 2 opponent and not level one is because ULM has beaten Alabama in the past and taken Auburn to overtime, so they’ve proven that they are capable of being in games they shouldn’t, but I don’t see that being the case this season.
Chance of Auburn winning: 99.5 percent
