With two SEC football games already cancelled because of Hurricane Matthew, we take a look at the other matchups we’ll see this weekend.

SEC football is secondary this weekend as we first want to send our thoughts and prayers to those on the east coast that are preparing for hurricane Matthew.

The storm is so violent that LSU and Florida have already cancelled their game, and the Georgia-South Carolina game has been moved to Sunday.

This will still be a huge weekend in the SEC and separate a lot of teams at the top of the standings.

Auburn at Mississippi State – 11 a.m. CT – ESPN

This is obviously a huge game for both teams. As we’ve talked about all week, Auburn needs this game to have a successful season, and Mississippi State needs this game to reach a bowl.

You can read our matchup and prediction article for this game here.

Tennessee at Texas A&M – 2:30 p.m. CT – CBS

This is the biggest game of the weekend as both teams are undefeated and ranked in the top 10. Tennessee really needs to win at least one of their next two games with Texas A&M this week and Alabama next weekend.

The Aggies need this game to make people believers as they’ve had good starts in the past before faltering.

As bad as Tennessee has played this year, it’s really hard to pick against them. And you have to think at some point they’re going to play a complete game.

Still, I like the Aggies at home in this game.

Prediction: Texas A&M – 37 Tennessee – 31

Vanderbilt at Kentucky – 3 p.m. CT – SEC Network

This game won’t get a ton of attention, but it’s actually a really huge game for both teams and the SEC.

Most likely only one of these teams will reach a bowl game – and it’s possible neither team does. However, the winner of this game will be halfway to six wins.

I have Vanderbilt in the basement of the SEC right now, but really either of these teams could be there.

I like Kentucky in this one for the fact that they’re at home, and Mark Stoops desperately needs this game to keep his job.

Prediction: Vanderbilt – 13 Kentucky – 21

Alabama at Arkansas – 6 p.m. CT – ESPN

There has been a lot of hype for this game, but I really don’t see it being close unless Alabama makes a ton of mistakes.

Arkansas has definitely played better than I thought they would this year, but I still think they’re overrated.

The Razorbacks have played Alabama close the past two years, and they do get this game at home, so that might keep it close for a little while.

In the end I think Alabama takes this one pretty easily.

Prediction: Alabama – 31 Arkansas – 17

Georgia at South Carolina – Sunday – 1:30 p.m. CT – SEC Network

This game has been moved from Saturday to Sunday because of hurricane Matthew. You have to wonder if that will have any affect on the visiting Bulldogs.

South Carolina’s defense has been pretty stout this year, while Georgia has been giving up a lot of points.

I really think the Gamecocks have a chance to make this game interesting. It would not surprise me at all if South Carolina go the upset here.

Prediction: Georgia – 27 South Carolina – 17

LSU at Florida – Postponed

I was really looking forward to this matchup, but the two teams were unable to come up with a comprise for how to get this game in this weekend.

There is hope that these two teams make this game up on November 19, but even that looks unlikely at this point.

Enjoy your Saturday/Sunday.
