Batting second: Mark Bellhorn, second base
Mark Bellhorn played at Auburn from 1993 to 1995, leading the team to a College World Series appearance in 1994. He earned All-America honors in 1995 after hitting .342 with 12 home runs and 60 RBI.
Bellhorn was drafted in the second round by the Oakland A’s in 1995 and made it to the big leagues in 1997. His breakout season came in 2002 when he hit 27 homers and 56 RBIs for the Chicago Cubs.
Two years later, Bellhorn was part of the Boston Red Sox team that won its first World Series since 1918. In the league championship series, he hit two home runs against the Yankees and added another dinger in the World Series. During the season, Bellhorn had 17 home runs and 82 runs batted in while hitting .264.
Bellhorn last played in the big leagues for the Cincinnati Reds in 2007.
