Batting third: Josh Donaldson, third base

Donaldson’s breakout year at Auburn was in 2007, when he batted .349 with 11 dingers and 54 RBIs, as well as 17 steals. That led him to be drafted by the Chicago Cubs at the end of the first round.

Donaldson first made the big leagues in 2010 with the Oakland A’s as a catcher, but he switched back to third base and had a breakout season in 2013 when he batted .301 with 24 HRs and 94 RBIs.

Traded to the Toronto Blue Jays after the 2014 season, Donaldson was voted American League Most Valuable Player in 2015 after smashing 41 homers and leading the league with 122 runs and 123 RBIs. He hit another 37 homers in 2016 and has made three All-Star Games.

If Smith and Bellhorn get on base, it’s Donaldson’s job to bring them home.
