Cleanup: Frank Thomas, first base

Is there any other choice for a cleanup hitter in this lineup? The Big Hurt is Auburn’s only Hall of Famer, and he won back-to-back Most Valuable Player awards in 1993 and 1994.

In 1989, his last season at Auburn, Thomas batted an astounding .403 with 19 homers and 83 RBIs, leading to his first-round draft selection by the Chicago White Sox. From 1991 to 1997, he recorded seven consecutive seasons with at least 100 runs, 20 home runs, 100 RBIs and a .300 batting average.

Thomas finished his 19-year major league career with 521 total homers and 1,704 runs batted in and a career batting average of .301. No other Auburn baseball alumnus comes close to matching his major league performance.
