3. Sean White (2015-17)

By the numbers: Sean White completed 216-of-351 passes for 2,845 yards, 10 TDs and seven interceptions. He also ran for 198 yards and two scores.

FlyWarEagle analysis: White arrived on campus with a chip on his shoulder. He was named the Under Armour Game MVP, won the Elite 11 QB competition despite being one of the lesser-known and recruited quarterbacks. He was undersized, but gritty, a leader and he just seemed to have that “it” factor coaches love. And he showed it on the field in spurts for the Tigers. He was an accurate passer, but Auburn lacked a down-field passing game when he was taking snaps.

Injuries began affecting his game and none more than the 2016 13-7 loss to Georgia. In that game, although White admittedly didn’t let coaches know how bad his throwing shoulder felt, White hit just 6-of-20 passes for 27 yards and the Tigers didn’t make a first down in the second half. Auburn managed just 32 second half yards and its longest drive was eight yards.

White would throw just 10 more passes in his Auburn career, all in the Sugar Bowl loss to Oklahoma when he still didn’t look anywhere near 100 percent. Jarrett Stidham won the starting job in 2017 and White was suspended for the first two games before being dismissed from the team after being arrested for public intoxication.

A promising career was over for White.
