RB Kam Martin

Kam Martin is a wild card on this list. He’s shown how dynamic he can be with the ball in his hands. He ran for 453 yards last season, averaging 6.1 yards on his 74 carries. He scored two touchdowns and also had a touchdown reception.

KAM MARTIN: Auburn’s 10 most important offensive players

Martin is going to be in an all-out battle for the starting running back position. It’s unclear — and likely will be until the season opener against Washington is in the books — how much Martin will run the ball in 2018. He’s Auburn’s most experienced back after the departures of Kerryon Johnson and Kamryn Pettway.

But Martin also has been perceived as the change-of-pace back in his first two seasons at Auburn. At the same time, he’s displayed the ability to run up the gut for tough yards. If he is Auburn’s primary back (and coming out of spring practice, he’s listed No. 1), he’ll get the opportunity to excel as the Auburn running game often is one of the SEC’s best.
