Biletnikoff Award

Auburn receiver Ryan Davis made a huge leap from 2016 to 2017 and that success helped land him on the 2018 Biletnikoff Award watch list.

The Biletnikoff Award recognizes the nation’s top receiver each season since 1994.

No Auburn player has won the award and only two SEC receivers have won it: Alabama’s Amari Cooper in 2014 and LSU’s Josh Reed in 2001.

Auburn’s Frank Sanders was a finalist in the award’s first season in 1994. Penn State’s Bobby Engram won that season.

Davis caught 25 passes for 194 yards and one touchdown in 2016, but his numbers exploded last season with Jarrett Stidham at quarterback. Davis became Stidham’s top target, hauling in an Auburn-record 84 passes for a team-best 815 yards and five touchdowns.

On Nov. 12, 10 semifinalists will be revealed. On Nov. 20, the list is trimmed to three finalists and the winner is announced Dec. 6 on the Home Depot College Football Awards show on ESPN.
