Auburn football: AD shows off recruiting center, locker room at Jordan-Hare Stadium
By Rob Maxwell
Auburn athletic director Allen Greene showed off the new $28 million Harbert Family Recruiting Center located inside Jordan-Hare Stadium on Friday to media members.
According to the university, the 44,000 square-foot facility includes recruiting space for football and Olympic sports. The multi-level space located in the southwest corner of Jordan-Hare Stadium also has new club space for fans and a new press box for the media. As you will see in photos taken by some of the media members, the building has a bigger locker room for the Auburn football team.
Gus Malzahn said the players have been impressed with what they’ve experienced in the short time they’ve been exposed to the new facility.
“Our locker room is completely different than it was,” he said, according to Brandon Marcello of AuburnUndercover.com. “It is bigger, it is more open. Of course, our recruiting area is really state of the art. It has all of the bells and whistles. It is really impressive. It is really a game-changer when you go over there compared to what we have had in the past.”
It’s just another reason to feel good about Auburn football.
The addition still has time before Auburn gets to show it off to the public. The No. 9 Auburn football team opens the season Saturday, Sept. 1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta against No. 6 Washington. Auburn’s first home game is scheduled Saturday, Sept. 8 against Alabama State at 7:30 p.m. ET (SEC Network Alternate).
After the Alabama State game, Auburn remains at Jordan-Hare Stadium for three more consecutive games.
Here is a look at some of the images and videos reporters posted on Twitter of the Harbert Family Recruiting Center:
That’s a good-looking addition to Jordan-Hare Stadium, already one of the best stadiums in the country.
